Web design
“Web design” is a term which is used only for determining the entire graphic arrangement of every web site. Web site designers differ from the rest designers because the methods and techniques which they use are exceptionally directed only to objects in the virtual space.
There are millions of sites in the virtual space and each of them aspires to be individual. The visual difference is due to the different design. If the domain name is the thing that you keep in your mind, the web design is the thing that you see. Not until then comes the turn of “Content Is King”, dendriform structure, key words, SEO Optimization, Internet marketing, administrating, maintaining, hosting and so on. The design is your coloured visiting card. There is a proverb which reads “A good picture says more than 300 written words”. Do not interpret it word for word, but nevertheless take into consideration that the good design in a combination with the remaining steps is the key to the user’s heart.
Very often when I ask the clients “What kind of design would you like – business, art, simplified, flash or combined?” I get the following answer “I don’t know. Good-looking!” This is the same as with the car – as with the nice car.
The creation of a qualitative web site design includes several steps.
1. Determination of the main colours – this is a very important moment.
2. Determination of the basic sections which would be visible in the home page.
3. Decision to use or not to use flash elements.
4. Disposition of the site – on one screen or it could be scrolled.
5. Availability of firm logos, presentable and advertising materials.
6. Client’s unique requirements – strictly individually for everyone.
On the basis of these elements the web designer makes 2 leading designs, every one of them with different philosophy. After their presentation the customer decides which one to choose while at the same time various changes could be made in it. The final result is always a different and unique web design.
